Life Group Leader Resources

Where to Find Group Studies

Leaders, we have two criteria for a small group study:
  1. doctrinally sound, and
  2. an actual published small group study with life application and great discussion questions.

RIGHTNOW.ORG

As a church, we subscribe to RightNow.org, which is like Netflicks except it has over 3,500 small group studies you can use with your group.  Our Woodland members and of course group leaders are all able to get a free account.  We normally send an invitation from RightNow to you via email when you become a new leader/host.  Make sure you check your email, click the link and create your account.

GROUPCURRICULUM.ORG
Also, there is a huge, updated, searchable, free Web site with the latest groups studies is maintained by North Point Church at groupcurriculum.org

THE LIFE GROUP OFFICE
We keep a large lending library of small group leader guides and DVD's Woodland group leaders/hosts can browse and check out.
Most of the video-based studies are not on RIGHTNOW.ORG, but there are some other great ones here too.  Business hours, M-F

Woodland leaders, we do require you to use material from the above three sources, or submit the author and study title to us for approval prior to doing a study not in the sources above.

OUR CORE CURRICULUM

We highly recommend you look over the studies below FIRST with a new or newer group.   Why?

Groups go through stages just like people. And you should choose studies that best fit where you group is currently.

So, for example, a new group needs to be very concerned about "gathering" people in and helping them connect with each other into a group.  It seems obvious, but If they don't attend, you can't disciple them!  Gathering phase studies are great for this initial phase because they cover important life issues we all face and that we need to know what God's word says.  That makes discussion lively and natural, because everyone has experience in these areas, everyone has a story or two, and we all still deal with them, regardless of our spiritual background.  Jesus' Sermon on the Mount was a great example.  Scan Matthew 5-7 and notice Jesus' topics.
