What's most important for your Church?
What’s most important to us, for anyone, is that they have put their faith in Christ as their one and only Savior. Christianity isn’t a religion; it’s a relationship. God is reaching down through Christ to us. Religion is man trying to “reach up” to God by his own efforts. But that’s impossible. God had to do it for us. He provided the payment for our guilt and sin by sending His Son to die for us because He loves us.
The four most important things to know are these:
1. God loves you! (John 3:16)
2. But we are sinful and separated from God (Romans 3:23)
3. However, God sent Christ to die in our place on the Cross to pay for our sin and offer forgiveness as a free gift. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
But it’s not enough just to know this, we must act on it...
4. We must each individually trust in Jesus as our Savior; no one else can do this for us.
Paul wrote in Romans 3:21-22,
“But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known...this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.”
Righteousness isn’t from keeping the law, but by believing in Christ as our Savior! You can do that right now by simply praying to God in your own words and letting Him know you do believe that Christ died for your sins and asking Him to forgive you in Christ. At that point you are saved, and that will never change. You are a child of God forever!
