Streaming RIGHTNOW.ORG Videos in your Life Group
Streaming RightNow's vast collection of small group video curriculum is easy.  And it's free!  Woodland pays a small monthly fee and you can access over 3,500 of the most popular small group video based studies out there on demand right on your TV, laptop, iPhone, iPad, Roku, Apple TV, and most mobile devices.  Connect to a TV and you have it right on the big screen.

Group Leaders:  You will first need a RightNow.Org account.  Make sure you responded to any email invitation Woodland sent you to join RightNow or view a training video.  You create your free account the first time you respond to the email by creating a user ID and password.

ON CAMPUS STREAMING of GROUP VIDEOS
We’ve added a special "WBC LifeGroups" Wi-Fi network in the classrooms on campus just for the purpose of groups streaming content for group.  You can access anything from the Web including RightNow, YouTube, Vimeo, or whatever.

1.  On Campus groups, you will need to first connect to our special Wi-Fi network "LifeGroups"
  • On your device, open your Wi-Fi settings and choose "LifeGroups"
  • It may take a few seconds to appear the first time
  • Then enter the password (you'll have to contact the Life Group office for that)
  • Connect your device to the TV using an HDMI adapter and cable if it's a smart phone or iPad/tablet.  Most newer laptops have an HDMI port, in which case you only need the cable.
  • Use the TV remote to select the proper HDMI input on the TV after connecting the cable if you don't see the picture.
(Why not use our “Woodland Free” Wi-Fi network?  The "Woodland Free" network is open and can get crowded, leading to stoppages.)

Network name: LifeGroups
Password:  contact Life Group office for the password

Always make sure in successive weeks that you are actually re-connected to LifeGroups and not Woodland Free.  Your device might automatically connect to Woodland Free as you enter the building.

On Campus: bring your own HDMI cable and take it with you when done. A cheap one 6’ will do.  There is no difference in quality for “fancy” ones.

EVERYONE (Home or On Campus)
Connecting to your TV:  In general, use an HDMI adapter to connect your device (iPhone 4 or later/iPad 2 or later, laptop, Android, etc.).  HDMI  is one simple cable that carries both picture and sound.  Best Buy or similar store can set you up with what you need.
  • Newer iPhones/iPads use the Apple Lighting AV adapter, older ones the 30-Pin AV adapter.***
  • Newer laptops with an HDMI output simply plug in an HDMI cable to the TV.
  • Android, consult Best Buy staff or similar stores for what you need to get HDMI output
Use the TV remote to select the proper HDMI input after connecting the cable if you don't see the picture.

If you have an Apple TV at home, you can also stream wirelessly by using AirPlay.

***I have tested an iPhone 5 and iPad mini with the Apple lighting AV adapter in our rooms and it worked perfectly without any additional adjusting or settings.  Your mileage may vary of course.  Many other have also used laptops and HDMI cables.   Always test your set up the week before you need to use it!
