doing life together
Do you pray to the Saints?  Why or why not?
We don’t have to pray to saints because of our position as believers:

“and God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6).

Notice the past tense here.  This is an accomplished fact.  As believers, we already are seated with Christ in God’s presence.  We’re not “outside” the door hoping to maybe get an inside connection through this saint, or that saint. We’re seated with Christ.  Where?  In God’s presence!  Picture it this way: if God had an office, as believers we'd already be past the doorman, past the security guards, past the elevator, and past the secretary, and seated there with Christ across the desk from God.  And, as we said before, Christ is our mediator, our “go-between” with God.  We don’t need any other!

What about Mary?  While she was said to be “blessed among women” because of her role in bearing Jesus, the Scripture never elevates her to a status other than that of a godly woman.  Jesus had a human nature and a divine nature.  Mary was mother of Jesus human nature, but not of His divine nature.  Jesus Himself limited the significance of Mary’s motherhood.  On one occasion Mary and Jesus’ brothers were trying to get inside to speak with Him.  When Jesus heard this, He asked,

“Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”  Then He stretched out His hand toward his disciples and said, Behold my mother and brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother."  (Matthew 18:48-50)
