doing life together

Why don't I have to talk to a priest?  Where does it specifically say in the Bible?
A priest acts as a mediator between God and mankind, a go-between.   But Christ Himself is our one mediator with God,

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
(1 Timothy 2:5)

A second reason we don’t need to go to a priest to get to God is because all Christians are priests. The Apostle Peter wrote,

“…you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”  (1 Peter 2:4-5)

Even the Catholic Dictionary agrees:

"The words 'priest,' 'priesthood' …are never applied in the New Testament to the office of the Christian ministry. All Christians are said to be priests “(1 Peter 2:5-9; Apoc. V, 10) [Catholic Dictionary, Addis and Arnold, p. 692].

That’s why there was no separate office of priest in the church until many centuries after the New Testament was written.
